Chainless reporter reports

The press conference for the appraisal of the Nine Cauldrons of King Zhou of Hong Kong, a national treasure, was held in Hong Kong – a joint appraisal by an authoritative expert group confirmed that it was a ceremonial artifact of the Zhou royal family. We hope that the integration of antique cultural relics and digital assets will accelerate in Hong Kong.

On the afternoon of November 11,2025, a highly anticipated cultural event, the authentication press conference for “The Nine Tripods of the Zhou Dynasty Revisited in Hong Kong,” was grandly held at the Golden Sun Centre in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. The event was organized by China Glory Cause Foundation Co., Ltd. and co-organized by four renowned institutions including the China Collectors Association. Over a hundred experts, scholars, collectors, and media representatives from home and abroad gathered to witness the stunning unveiling of the Zhou Dynasty bronze tripods, symbols of Chinese royal power and ritual civilization, after authoritative authentication. Hong Kongs TVB, Sunshine TV, and Asia Network TV conducted on-site interviews.

Echoes of three thousand years of history

At approximately 2:00 PM, amid the anticipation of all attendees, Mr.Xiao Shengkuan, the contemporary custodian of the Nine Tripods and a renowned Hong Kong collector, jointly unveiled the collection with Mr.Zhuang Jiyong, Executive Vice President of the Guangdong Computer Chamber of Commerce. The nine square tripods, arranged in varying sizes and sequentially positioned, immediately became the focal point of the event. According to Mr.Xiao Shengkuan, this set of Nine Tripods had drifted to Hong Kong in the late 1940s and had been cherished and safeguarded by him since the early 1990s. Inscriptions such as “Zhou Wang Gongdu” on the tripod bodies add an air of mystery to the collections provenance.

Scientific identification and authoritative demonstration

To ensure the scientific rigor of the appraisal, renowned expert Mr.Huang Weigang conducted on-site testing using the QRS Quantum Spectrometer on the Nine Tripods and other comparison samples. Through precise analysis of metal composition and dating, the instruments data confirmed the bronze tripods age at 3,051 years. His findings perfectly aligned with the inscriptions on the Nine Tripods and cross-referenced with the Luoyang Tripods.

As a comparison, the test of a variety of other collections showed that the material, color and seal of a painting could be tested in different periods, so as to determine the authenticity, which was quite amazing.

Professor Wang Dexun, a renowned expert in ancient inscriptions and bronze script, conducted in-depth research on 2 4 inscriptions, demonstrating their intrinsic connections to the Zhou Dynasty royal family through textual morphology and content analysis. Professor Du Gangjian, a distinguished historian and humanist scholar, interpreted the Nine Tripods as supreme symbols of “divine mandate” and “ritual core” from a civilization history perspective, conclusively identifying them as the “Chengwang Tripods” – the first complete set of Nine Tripods discovered from the Zhou Wang Jiuding Professor Sun Xin, the only forensic expert qualified in the Greater Bay Area, synthesized evidence and presented the expert groups conclusive opinion.

On the Jia Wu day of the first lunar month, the royal court of King Zhou was established, with the descendants of the Zhou royal family as the foundation.

This argument will achieve a closed loop from the aspects of ritual system, inscriptions, craftsmanship, and instrument detection. Finally, after internal discussions and unanimous approval by the expert group, Vice President Yan Changxiong of the China Collectors Association announced the appraisal conclusion on site: “The expert group unanimously believes that this set of bronze tripods is a sacrificial vessel used by the Zhou Dynasty royal family about three thousand years ago, and has unparalleled historical, artistic, and cultural heritage value.” President Yan then solemnly delivered the signed expert appraisal certificate of the Zhou King’s Nine Cauldrons to the guardian Mr. Xiao Shengkuan.

Cultural inheritance and digital innovation

This press conference transcended cultural relic authentication, serving as a pioneering exploration of heritage preservation. In the latter session, discussions expanded to Web3.0 and digital finance. Mr.Fang Xuchu, a prominent investment expert in the Web3 ecosystem, delivered a keynote addressing how antiques and artworks can integrate with financial innovation during the digital transformation of physical assets. The project utilizes blockchain technology to convert the inherent physical value of cultural relics into tradable digital assets, enabling broader public participation in safeguarding and sharing the appreciation of national treasures. This initiative pioneers new pathways for revitalizing and preserving cultural heritage through innovative digital solutions.

The return of the Nine Tripods of the Zhou Dynasty in Hong Kong marks a landmark discovery for both archaeology and collectors, heralding a breakthrough in Hong Kongs integration of traditional culture and innovative finance.
