16-12 Wei Dai does customer service for Bitcoin

Wu: You said earlier that you analyzed Wei Dai’s authoritative explanation for Bitcoin’s success and examined its contradictions.

Yes. If you understand Wei Dai’s explanation, you can understand Bitcoin. However, at the same time, contradictions were found.

Wei Dai answered the questions of group friends in Literature (1):

“To be honest I didn’t initially expect Bitcoin to make as much impact as it has, and I’m still at a bit of a loss to explain why it has succeeded to the extent that it has. In my experience lots of promising ideas especially in the field of cryptography never get anywhere in practice. But anyway, it’s probably a combination of many things. Satoshi’s knowledge and skill. His choice of an essentially fixed monetary base which ensures early adopters large windfalls if Bitcoin were to become popular, and which appeals to people who distrust flexible government monetary policies. Timing of the introduction to coincide with the economic crisis. Earlier discussions of related ideas which allowed his ideas to be more readily accepted. The availability of hardware and software infrastructure for him to build upon. Probably other factors that I’m neglecting.”(1)

Wei Dai’s explanation is perfect; without love and passion in the heart, there would not be such a thorough insight. But when Satoshi Nakamoto released the white paper, Wei Dai did not exhibit normal behavior like Hal. Wei Dai is good at community activism, as shown in “LessWrong.” Why didn’t a search of the Bitcoin forum in June 2022 find Wei Dai’s post? Searching for “Wei Dai” on the P2P Foundation forum yielded no results. Wei Dai did act on the Bitcoin Forum; see reference (2). According to Literature (2), Wei Dai’s last active date was June 16, 2017.

Wei Dai created the forum in October 2010, just over a month before Satoshi Nakamoto left. This point confirms the view of the outside world. There are signs of Satoshi Nakamoto’s departure, and Wikileaks is just a trigger point. Satoshi Nakamoto was not ready at this time, and it was in early 2011 that he handed over the chief maintainer of Bitcoin to Gavin Andresen. Now, these two forums can’t find information about Wei Dai’s activities. It may be that he deleted his information. Other people’s data cannot be deleted, so there are clues. Wei Dai wants to clean up the relationship with Bitcoin, including the Satoshi Nakamoto entry on Wikipedia, which does not appear as the name of Wei Dai as the person suspected of being Satoshi Nakamoto. Wei Dai’s actions contrast significantly with his words. Still, in this sentence, excessive behavior is abnormal, which is the sign,  grasp the deep digging, and the result will come out. If Wei Dai had nothing to do with Satoshi, he should behave like Nick, Hal, and Adam. It is a very simple logical judgment. I need help understanding Wei Dai’s simple logical errors, such as good analytical ability and vision.

Satoshi Nakamoto’s departure is correct. He has prepared his next strategy based on Wei Dai’s registration on the Bitcoin forum. What prompted him to change his approach? Obviously not a legal issue. Why did Wei Dai leave forum in June 2017? May be In June 2017, Wei Dai deleted the posts on the Bitcoin forum and the P2P forum at the same time. Why? It is one of the mysteries. I offer a clue for interested readers to study.

Wu: Most people look at one side, but you look at the two sides.

I look at both sides. My goal is not only to study but also to solve the case. Only by solving the case can I understand it thoroughly. The following is the analysis.

Going back to the analytical Literature (1), why is Bitcoin successful?

Let’s analyze Wei Dai’s explanation one by one:

A. “To be honest I didn’t initially expect Bitcoin to make as much impact as it has, and I’m still at a bit of a loss to explain why it has succeeded to the extent that it has. In my experience, lots of promising ideas especially in the field of cryptography never get anywhere in practice.”

There is something wrong with what Wei Dai said; Satoshi Nakamoto’s goal is to transform the world; how could he not expect such a significant impact? He didn’t expect happiness to come so quickly and used only a tiny portion of the application means prepared in the Bitcoin system script. He can lie down and win. You can taste it; this sentence was said by him bringing his identity into the situation of Satoshi Nakamoto. Very concerned; if it is someone else’s project, what does it have to do with you? If you are so concerned, why didn’t you help Satoshi Nakamoto like Hal in the early years and only mine coins yourself? The problem with this sentence is that “I didn’t think of it at first” from the perspective of Satoshi Nakamoto does not match Satoshi Nakamoto’s early behavior, so that I won’t expand here.

B. ” The knowledge and skills of Satoshi Nakamoto.”

It is not difficult to know Satoshi Nakamoto’s knowledge and skills by looking at the Bitcoin project, but where did Satoshi Nakamoto’s knowledge and skills come from? Unfortunately, as a natural person, Satoshi Nakamoto has no source for his talents; as a dummy, only Wei Dai has the same abilities as Satoshi Nakamoto, according to previous experts.

C. ”His choice of an essentially fixed monetary base which ensures early adopters large windfalls.”

when Bitcoin became popular, which is critical since there is no income, early developers are volunteers without a large number of coins and shared Faith; how to persevere? Using fixed currency for incentives creates a new economic structure suitable for the marketization of the Internet. The halving of coins seems unreasonable, but it is reasonable and becomes the driving force for the automatic operation of the driving system. Created a self-organizing economy, a machine-trust standard. But the distribution could be more reasonable, and the early distribution is still much. However, it is a crooked hit, leaving a possibility for the later Bitcoin standard. This sentence is that Wei Dai’s analysis is not from the perspective of Satoshi Nakamoto, and there is nothing wrong with it.

Wu: Why is it said that it is a crooked hit?

Because after reading all the posts of Satoshi Nakamoto, although his financial level is good, he has never given a prescription for the Bitcoin standard. Wei Dai also did not prescribe. If Wei Dai brings up the Bitcoin standard and regains attention, it reveals he is Satoshi Nakamoto. It is the point where Wei Dai acts in line with Satoshi Nakamoto and believes in natural evolution, which is to wait. It seems problematic now. Waiting, there is huge uncertainty, and the only way to guarantee real success is to integrate into the mainstream as quickly as possible.

D. ” which appeals to people who distrust flexible government monetary policies.”

This idea was the origin of Bitcoin development and Satoshi Nakamoto’s core point imprinted in Wei Dai’s head. If he had not read Satoshi Nakamoto’s Bitcoin debut release note, he would not have had this impression. Suppose you concentrate for a while and read all Satoshi Nakamoto’s and Wei Dai’s articles. In that case, you will definitely need clarification because you can’t tell who Wei Dai is and who Satoshi Nakamoto is in the end.

E. “Timing of the introduction to coincide with the economic crisis.”

It is consistent with the meaning expressed in the message of the Genesis block. However, Satoshi Nakamoto has never publicly stated this view. It indicates that Wei Dai has studied Satoshi Nakamoto very carefully. So why did he delete his posts in the Bitcoin and P2P Foundation forums and stay away from Bitcoin? If we love someone, we will try to get close to her; why do we want to stay away from her when our mind is full of love? The only plausible explanation here is that there are ulterior motives.

F. ” Earlier discussions of related ideas which allowed his ideas to be more readily accepted.” (1)

Where is this discussion taking place? How did Wei Dai know that Satoshi Nakamoto knew about these related discussions? It was a small circle at the time. Wei Dai’s post on the same day also denied that Satoshi Nakamoto was a circle member.

“My guess is that he’s not anyone who was previously active in the academic cryptography or cypherpunks communities, because otherwise he probably would have been identified by now based on his writing and coding styles.” (3)

There is a contradiction in Wei Dai’s statement here. The first sentence from quotation (1) is about the words of an earlier discussion. Assuming Satoshi Nakamoto is a natural person. The latter sentence is from source (3). Note the artfulness of Wei Dai’s speech; is he wrong in this statement? No! Because Satoshi Nakamoto is a dummy, so certainly not a person in cypherpunk. If you don’t have it in your mind that Satoshi Nakamoto is a dummy, you’ll have confused by Wei Dai in a moment. But that’s okay because Wei Dai himself gets confused a lot.

If Wei Dai replaced Satoshi Nakamoto, the above contradiction would be gone. I read Wei Dai’s text, Wei Dai’s principle of not lying. I did not find Wei Dai saying, “I am not Satoshi Nakamoto”? And the other three founding fathers all explicitly said so.

Wu: This is another assignment for people to find.

Right. A human is not as good as an AI with a full sweep, but multiple people with a full sweep can compensate for the deficiency. I’ll leave it as a topic for people to study. But my logic is that Wei Dai doesn’t lie; he’s a good scale judge. The power of the community is greater than the individual. Others will validate my conclusions.

The following section analyzes Wei Dai’s assessment of Bitcoin and its creators; he says what only Satoshi Nakamoto can say.

Wei Dai’s last login date is on June 16, 2017

satoshi’s last login date is on December 13, 2010

At least we see Wei Dai was more lately around the forum, 7 years later than Satoshi. The creation date of Wei Dai is on October 20, 2010, about one month before the last active date of Satoshi. Is it a preparation of Satoshi?

I haven’t personally made any attempts to find out who he is, nor do I have any idea how. My guess is that he’s not anyone who was previously active in the academic cryptography or cypherpunks communities, because otherwise he probably would have been identified by now based on his writing and coding styles.
